The Los Angeles Lakers satisfied their need for a 3-point shooter on Thursday, reportedly acquiring guard Luke Kennard from the Atlanta Hawks.

The Athletic reported Los Angeles is sending guard Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick to Atlanta for Kennard.

On the season, the Lakers are shooting 34.8% as a team from long distance.

Kennard, 29, is shooting an NBA-best 49.7% (74-of-149 shooting) from 3-point territory in 46 games off the bench this season and is a career 44.2% shooter from long range. He is averaging 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

The Lakers will be the fifth NBA team in nine seasons for Kennard, who was selected No. 12 overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Vincent, 29, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Heat and spent four seasons there before signing with the Lakers before the 2023-24 campaign.

In 29 games (seven starts) with the Lakers this season, he is averaging 4.8 points and 1.3 assists.

Both Kennard and Vincent will be unrestricted free agents after the season.
